She has been dyeing her hair dark brown since she was four years old, reports contactmusic.com. The 34-year-old actress claims her late mother Marcheline Bertrand started the trend because she didn't like the colour of Jolie's locks.
'My natural colour is dark blonde. But when I was four or five, my mother dyed my hair dark brown, and she decided to keep it that way. And I stuck with that,' Jolie has been quoted as saying. | Kate Gosselin gets a 20-hour hair makeover - MSNBC Posted: 07 Jan 2010 01:44 AM PST With her divorce to Jon finally behind her, Kate Gosselin started off 2010 by spending some serious quality time with a new guy — and their date lasted until the wee hours of the morning. Celebrity hairstylist Ted Gibson, who has tended to the tresses of Angelina Jolie and Anne Hathaway, spent nearly 20 hours last week meticulously adding hundreds of extensions to Kate's hair. Luckily, they both agree that their time together was a smashing success. "Kate was an absolute sweetheart, I loved her," says Gibson, who also appears on the TLC show What Not To Wear. While he knew that transforming the look that launched a thousand Halloween wigs would be a challenge, Gibson reveals it was the super-short, spiky hair in the back of Kate's notorious former hairstyle that proved most daunting. "Bonding extensions to those little hairs really took time. But in all those hours, she didn't complain once. She was so open to whatever I suggested, and willing to try just about anything." Well, with one notable exception: At first, Gibson reports, Kate was reluctant to let go of the thick, jaw-length shock of hair in the front of her face in favor of bangs. "She wasn't sure about bangs," says Gibson, "But I find many women have that one thing they're afraid to let go of, that one 'security blanket' part of their look, whether it's a fear of going shorter or darker or something. But once they finally let go and embrace the change, they always love it." Indeed, Kate gave in on the bangs and was thrilled with the sleek, layered look Gibson achieved. "It's good to have hair again," she says. "I know this will be more upkeep than my old look, but I'm ready for it. I'm just grateful I don't have to go through the awkward growing-out process of short hair. I get criticized for everything I do enough as it is!" Do these two actually do anything besides star in movies and spend time with their kids? Sounds like a great life, but it's not enough for Star and its ilk. According to tabloids: Their marriage is an act; Angelina plays mind games; She wants baby #7, Brad moved out; Brad meets with Jennifer Aniston; Angelina had declared war on Jen; She contemplated suicide; She's plotting a revenge pregnancy. That's only in the last three months, too! The latest from the venerable writers at Star: Angelina Jolie has been cheating on Brad Pitt, and in turn, "the love is gone" from their hot relationship. She's apparently "come clean" about other lovers (Johnny Depp, perhaps), and Brad said "I'm outta here" for the 12th time since mid-September. These supermarket magazine covers never cease to amuse. Look at Brad on a motorcycle! That means "I'm outta here (to pick up something at the store)!" In other news, Kim Kardashian and Beyonce have weight loss tricks, Brittany Murphy had demons and Charlie Sheen had a Christmas outburst that left his marriage to Brooke Mueller in tatters. French actress Bertrand left a large portion of her estate to Jolie's kids Maddox, eight, Zahara, four, and Shiloh, three - the three grandchildren she met before she lost her battle with ovarian cancer in January 2007. They were each left USD 100,000 (?62,500), but according to papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court last week (ends01Jan10), the money has been placed in trust funds and the kids will only gain access to their inheritance on their 25th birthdays, reports TMZ.com. Jolie's three other children with partner Brad Pitt were not included in Bertrand's will - Pax, six, was adopted two months after his grandmother's death, while biological twins Knox and Vivienne were born in July 2008. Bertrand, who died at the age of 56, left her USD 661,000 (?413,125) estate in the hands of Jolie and her brother James Haven. --IANS-WENN
