That's why the fashion house St. John is replacing Angie as the face of their line. St. John CEO Glenn McMahon told Women's Wear Daily that the 34-year old Oscar winner "overshadowed the brand." "We wanted to make a clean break from actresses and steer away from blonds and cleanse the palette," McMahon said. "We needed to show a modern point of view of St. John. We have evolved." The new (and improved?) face of St. John will be the redheaded British model and songstress Karen Elson, 30. The ads, which were directed by executive vice president of design George Sharp, will reportedly launch in the February issues of Vanity Fair, Harper's Bazaar and Vogue. In other words, Jolie is dropped as the fashion figure of St. John and Karen Elson takes her place. But may we ask why? The company CEO Glenn McMahon explains why. As per reported by the Denver Post, Angelina Jolie has been dropped as the face of St. John fashion house because she was "overshadowing the brand"! Yes, that's what Mr. McMahon has to say. Hence comes the red hair and eyebrow famous Karen Elson, the British model and singer. The 30-year old Elson will be the new face of St. John replacing the gorgeous 34-year old Angelina Jolie. McMahon informed that they wanted to have a fresh face and keep the US models aside for sometimes. They actually wanted to offer a modern view of St. John and hence the change in model. Moreover, Angelina Jolie had been proving too gorgeous that people actually ogled at her so much that they forgot to notice the brand she was endorsing! Lolz! Hope St. John fashion house and their brands get more noticeable with the less gorgeous lady Karen Elson! BRAD PITT and his partner ANGELINA JOLIE have opted out of attending the upcoming Golden Globes ceremony - because the actor failed to receive a nomination for his role in INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS.
Pitt stars as an American soldier in the World War II drama, which is up for a string of awards at the bash including Best Picture and Best Director for Quentin Tarantino. But the actor has decided against attending the event on 17 January (10) with his superstar partner, because he was not given a nod for his role in the film, according to Jolie's stylist Jen Rade. Rade tells E! Online, "They're not going because he's not nominated individually. Inglourious Basterds is, but not him." --IANS-WENN
