People: Angelina Jolie dropped for "overshadowing" brand - Denver Post Posted: 11 Jan 2010 12:13 AM PST Angelina Jolie is so larger-than-life, she makes you forget about the products she's paid to endorse: The Oscar-winner was replaced as the face of fashion house St. John, because her presence, according to company CEO Glenn McMahon, "overshadowed the brand." Next month, the new, Angie-less ads launch in Vanity Fair, Harper's Bazaar and Vogue, showcasing redhead Karen Elson, instead. "We wanted to make a clean break from actresses and steer away from blonds and cleanse the palette," McMahon told Women's Wear Daily. "We needed to show a modern point of view of St. John; we have evolved." So it looks as if Jolie, 34, will be forced to rely on movie paychecks; her next film, "Salt," hits theaters July 23. Looks like Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood are more than back together. The singer proposed to "The Wrestler" star during a gig in Paris on Monday, a source tells People. Manson, 41, and Wood, 22, reportedly split in 2008 after a two-year relationship, then got back together, then broke up again. In December, Manson confirmed to the magazine Metal Hammer that they were back on. "Me being me at my best is what I need to be," he told the magazine. "That really paid off because I'm back with Evan." The reconciliation came as a surprise considering, Manson had just told Spin.com that he had "fantasies every day about smashing (Wood's) skull in with a sledgehammer." The shock-rocker revealed that after his 2008 breakup with Wood, he called his ex obsessively. The more reserved Wood, who was linked to co-stars Mickey Rourke ("The Wrestler") and Alexander Skarsgard ("True Blood") during her split from Manson, described the rocker to Elle in 2007. "(He's) lovely, really human and just amazing," she told the woman's magazine. "It may surprise you just how healthy and loving our relationship is." Manson has been previously married to brunette burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese. It will be the first marriage for Wood.Casey Johnson's 3-year-old daughter will be raised by Casey's mother and sisters, family sources tell TMZ. Ava — whom Casey adopted two years ago — has been living with Casey's mom, Sale, for the past few months. TMZ said it's the family that wants Ava to remain with Sale — along with her husband Ahmad Rashad — for good. Sources close to the family told TMZ Casey's sisters will also help out. adoption papers. Tobey Maguire doesn't think "Spider-Man 4" has become a tangled mess. The 34-year-old star of the web-slinging superhero franchise said preproduction snags aren't dampening his mood about the fourth installment. The next "Spider-Man" film had been scheduled to swing into theaters May 6, 2011, but that seems unlikely now that "Thor," another big-screen Marvel superhero adaptation, has hammered out the same release date."Like anything, it's a process," Maguire said recently. "We're just in the midst of the process. We have a lot of great stuff in terms of story and script. We're just trying to dial it in and get it ready as quickly as possible. Of course, these movies are a very big undertaking and take a lot more time than a drama or something more straightforward." Marvel Studios spokesman Paul Pflug declined to comment on reports that production had stalled amid script revisions. Maguire, who has played Peter Parker in all three films, said the plan is to still release the movie in 2011, but wasn't more specific about the date. Whatever happens, he's enthusiastic about Spidey's future. "Not only do I have specific ideas, but the ideas are evolving on the page," he said. "It's all happening right now. It's all sort of coming together. — The Associated Press also contributed to this report lsmith@denverpost.com Five Filters featured article: Chilcot Inquiry. Women with full lips like Angelina Jolie's look younger - Daily News and Analysis Posted: 11 Jan 2010 01:25 AM PST London: Women, who have full, firm lips like those of Angelina Jolie's, look much younger than they really are, a study has revealed. Jolie's lips have been voted the most desirable in the world in a poll where women longed to look like the beautiful actress. Researchers believe that even if a woman gets wrinkles and her hair loses its sheen and begins to grey, fuller lips can save the day. The experts also found why lips become shrivelled or stay firm is mainly determined by genes not just external causes like sun damage. The findings of the Unilever study at seven world universities appear to confirm that a full pout is a key sign of sexual allure, reports the Daily Express. Previous studies have also determined facial attractiveness is a combination of large eyes and full lips as well as the relationship between the face contour and the eyes, mouth and nose. Lip shrinkage usually begins between the ages of 30 and 40. Five Filters featured article: Chilcot Inquiry. Available tools: PDF Newspaper, Full Text RSS, Term Extraction. |
Angelina Jolie Likes Brad Pitt’s Beard - Showbizspy.com Posted: 11 Jan 2010 01:46 AM PST
Insiders say Jolie has been urging Pitt NOT to shave his beard because she thinks he looks sexy. "She loves it," said the source. "Brad was ready to trim it or even shave it off but Ange loves the feel of it. She says it makes him look distinguished and makes him feel hot." Recent reports claimed that tensions between Pitt and Jolie — who have been together since 2005 — are so fierce, they won't be able to stand each other any longer. "Things are really bad between them," a source close to Brangelina told American tabloid the National Enquirer. "The fights are getting worse and worse. "In my opinion, it's only a matter of time before they split up for good." Five Filters featured article: Chilcot Inquiry. Available tools: PDF Newspaper, Full Text RSS, Term Extraction. |
