Posted: 13 Jan 2010 05:12 AM PST Hollywood's love-birds Brangelina, who are, indisputably, the 'world's sexiest couple' aren't in an amiable mood………..they are, silently, furious. And, hey, not on each other (at least not this time) but on the Golden Globe committee! And why so? Well, the grapevine has it that the duo are miffed at the exclusion of Brad's name from the list of nominees for the 'Best Actor' category for his role in the critically acclaimed film 'Inglourious Basterds'. Though, the film has got the nod in the 'Best Film' category and the renowned director Quentin Tarantino, too, has grabbed a place in the 'Best Director' slot; Brad Pitt's absence makes the case intriguing and interesting. "They're not going because he's not nominated individually. Inglourious Basterds is, but not him," reveals a source. Clearly, this hasn't gone down well with Brad and he has resolved to shun this year's Golden Globe ceremony along with mate Angy. She's been confirmed as a presenter at the awards and now won't have to worry about running into her ex Brad Pitt and girlfriend Angelina Jolie as they are now making an appearance this year. Jen Rade, stylist for Jolie confirmed the news saying "They're not going because he's not nominated individually," she said. ""Inglourious Basterds" is, but not him." Other presenters at the Golden Globes include Cher, Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jodie Foster, Taylor Lautner, Tom Hanks and Neil Patrick Harris. Graham King's GK Films has just confirmed that German director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, who previously exited the film during its development stage, is back on top of the production. He will oversee the A-list cast of Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp in a story line that sees Depp playing an American tourist lured into a nefarious plot of intrigue by a female Interpol agent (Jolie) as she attempts to locate a criminal. Avatar's Sam Worthington was previously attached to play Depp's character and at one point the producers were talking to Alfonso Cuaron to take over directing duties. Donnersmarck won an Academy Award in 2007 for Best Foreign Language Film for his writing/directing debut The Lives of Others. The Tourist will be distributed by Sony as part of King's output deal with the studio. The Tourist is expected to begin principal photography in the spring. | Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie 'Devastated' by Haiti Earthquake - National Ledger Posted: 13 Jan 2010 07:06 AM PST Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have spoken of their devastation at the earthquake in Haiti. The Hollywood couple have previously visited the troubled country with Fugees star Wyclef Jean - and immediately reached out to him to offer their help in his aid efforts for his homeland. "We are devastated by the news from Haiti," Pitt and Jolie said in a joint statement. "We will work closely with our good friend Wyclef Jean to support the humanitarian efforts on the island and help those who have been injured and left without homes and shelter." Jean has long been an outspoken campaigner for help for Haiti and immediately rushed into action at news of the earthquake, which is feared to have killed thousands. He begged for help, saying "idle hands will only make this tragedy worse", adding: "The international community must also rise to the occasion.
