Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt Give To Orphans At Christmas - Post Chronicle Posted: 28 Dec 2009 07:11 AM PST Hollywood's most benevolent couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, were in a giving mood at Christmas (09), handing over $100,000 (Gbp62,500) to the Sos Children's Villages charity in America. The organisation is a foster care facility, which enables siblings to stay together during the adoption process. In a statement, mum-of-six Jolie says, "We have seen first-hand the remarkable job Sos does to raise orphaned and abandoned children and keep families together." Pitt adds, "In this holiday season, many of us take for granted that we are surrounded by loving family members. The poor outcomes for foster children indicate that we must do a much better job of supporting them." (c) WENN Five Filters featured article: Chilcot Inquiry. Fidelity Is Not Essential for Us, Angelina Jolie Says in New Interview - Softpedia Posted: 28 Dec 2009 01:06 AM PST She often made headlines for her alleged wild love life, as well as for the unique way she occasionally found to express her affection, like wearing her ex's blood in a vial on a chain around her neck. Even if she's now a mother and a committed partner, Angelina Jolie insists that fidelity is not essential in a relationship – not even in hers with Brad Pitt, as she reveals for Das Neue magazine, as cited by New York Daily News. Speaking frankly about her longterm romance with Pitt, Jolie comes clean about several aspects, from how their fights can sometimes turn physical – especially when Brad can't tell he's in the wrong and insists in his error – to how they are not "chained" together just because they have a life together. In other words, Angelina admits that neither she nor Brad is exclusively tied to the other and could have an affair anytime they wanted – or so the quotes just recently surfaced would seem to imply. "I doubt that fidelity is absolutely essential for a relationship." Jolie said for Das Neue, as cited by the aforementioned gossip magazine. "It's worse to leave your partner and talk badly about him afterwards. Neither Brad nor I have ever claimed that living together means to be chained together. We make sure that we never restrict each other," she added. In the same interview, Jolie also explained how she tended to lose her temper when Brad couldn't admit he was wrong, at which point a fight was more than likely to become physical. The actress also took the time to stress that, while her perception of a relationship might be different from that of most people (especially women), that is not to say she would ever stoop so low as to have an affair with a married man. To put it bluntly, no, she did not get involved with Pitt while he was still married to Jennifer Aniston, Jolie insists. "The sparks fly at home if the nice Brad fails to see that he's wrong and reacts in a defiant way. Then I can get so angry that I tear his shirt," Jolie says. As for the cheating allegations that still make the rounds after so many years, the star says, "To be intimate with a married man, when my own father cheated on my mother, is not something I could forgive. I could not look at myself in the morning, if I did that." Five Filters featured article: Chilcot Inquiry. Available tools: PDF Newspaper, Full Text RSS, Term Extraction. |
Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie Make $100,000 Donation To Foster Care Homes - Post Chronicle Posted: 28 Dec 2009 07:11 AM PST Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie donated $100,000 to two US foster care homes. The Hollywood couple - who raise six children together - gave the American SOS Villages in Florida and Illinois the Christmas present after being impressed by the work they do. Angelina said of the generous gift: "We have seen firsthand the remarkable job SOS does to raise orphaned and abandoned children and keep families together. No one 'ages out' of an SOS Village: vocational training, advanced education, living assistance and moral support are there forever." The SOS Villages house over 200 disadvantaged children and Brad said it was important to show gratitude for the work they do. He said: "In this holiday season, many of us take for granted that we are surrounded by loving family members. The poor outcomes for foster children indicate that we must do a much better job of supporting them." It was recently revealed Brad and Angelina donated $6.8 million to charity last year after raising the money through their Jolie-Pitt Foundation. According to The Hollywood Reporter - which received a copy of the 2008 tax return for the charity - the Jolie-Pitt Foundation banked $13 million in 2008 and over half was given back to good causes.
