| Angelina Jolie and Darren Aronofsky in talks for Serena: A Novel - Entertainment and Showbiz! Posted: 02 Mar 2010 02:13 AM PST Tomb-raiding beauty Angelina Jolie and Darren Aronofsky, the helmer of The Wrestler, are apparently in heavy duty talks to bring Ron Rash's riveting novel, Serena: A Novel to the big screen. The duo is looking for a prospective producer for the period drama while The Road's Nick Wechsler has already thrown in the hat for financing the movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Chris Kyle (K-19: The Widowmaker) who has penned the script for the movie needs to improvise it further before Jolie and Aronofsky can go ahead with the new venture. The Lara Croft beauty who was seen last in 2008 in the thrilling drama Changeling which won her a Oscar nomination is currently shooting for the thriller, The Tourist in Paris alongside Johnny Depp. Given the latest reports the full-lipped beauty has no other project lined up after the Tourist although she has expressed keen interest in a movie based on the Patricia Cornwell character Kay Scarpetta. Set in the backdrop of North Carolina Mountains of 1929, "Serena" played by Jolie along with her new husband George Pemberton creates a timber empire. She not only proves herself to be the equal of any man, overseeing crews, hunting rattle-snakes, even saving her husband's life in the wilderness but also goads her husband into committing heinous and ruthless acts on all those who fall out of favor. This seems to be the case with 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' co-stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt who seem to have consolidated their paradise walls which, at one time, seemed to be crumbling under the stone pelting of the tabloid. But, apart from the togetherness of Brangelina, there's another reason to celebrate for these jolly love-birds. Another reconciliation has, reportedly, materialised and that, too, between the estranged father-daughter duo of Jon Voight and Angelina. The reports are seemingly true based on the ground of the snapshot that was clicked in Venice this Sunday (21st February, 2010) which shows Brangelina with her pack of 6 children surrounded by her 71-year old dad Jon. And if grapevine is to be believed than it's the hand of Brad Pitt that has restitched the torn relationship of dad n daughter. A source reveals, "Since Brad and Angelina have been together, he has been encouraging her to smooth things over with her dad. And when it comes to the kids, Brad wants them to know their grandfather the way the kids know his parents." Fugate works out of Manhattan's Sam Brocato Salon. More Brangelina kids news...The family's eldest daughter Zahara (pictured) has turned into a fashionista as she is spotted wearing a $330 coat. The five-year-old was seen out in Paris with dad Brad, 46, on February 23 while mum Angelina, 34, was shooting new movie The Tourist at a nearby location. Zahara was seen wearing the $330 double-breasted Alice & Olivia jacket while out in the French capital. Her younger sister Shiloh, three, was recently seen with a new short tomboy hair cut. However, another celeb tot, Suri Cruise, still outdoes Zahara in the style stakes as she was recently spotted with an $850 handbag and a Dolce & Gabbana coat. The daughter and dad have been on the outs for several years over a comment Voight made about Jolie's mental stability on an American TV show several years ago. That seven year family feud must be behind the father-daughter duo as Angelina and dad along with Brad Pitt and the couple's children all spent some quality time together in Venice. More Brangelina news...Hollywood actor Brad Pitt is planning to fly to London for a forthcoming party to celebrate Inglourious Basterds. The 46-year-old star is currently in Venice with partner Angelina Jolie, 34, and their six children but is planning to fly to the UK for the party, according to UK newspaper Daily Mail. Pitt is set to arrive in the UK on Sunday, the same night as the BAFTAs, but it has been reported he will not be attending the awards ceremony or the official dinner at Grosvenor House. He will instead be attending an event at Momo, which has been organized by The Weinstein Company and Universal Studios to celebrate the hit movie, which is up for several BAFTAs. (Image: Splash News)
