Angelina Jolie Wants Obama Administration to Take More Action in ... - Seattle Post Intelligencer Posted: 11 Dec 2009 10:37 AM PST Angelina Jolie wants to see the Obama administration take greater steps in bringing peace to Darfur. "I believe President Obama and his special envoy Scott Gration will do their best to bring peace to the region," Jolie, a U.N. goodwill ambassador, wrote in her OpEd story for Newsweek on Thursday. "Their policy, though, raises a number of questions. How is the Obama administration's approach to Sudan an evolution of justice? In addition, when the administration says it intends to work to 'improve the lives of the people of Darfur,' I would like to know what that means, besides the obvious point that their lives could hardly get worse." Brad Pitt calls Angelina his "soul mate;" so why not marry her? In the story, titled "Justice Delayed Is Not Justice Denied," Jolie passionately questions the administration and suggests it "should explore ways to bring [Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir] to justice." "On this Human Rights Day — the same day President Obama receives his Nobel Peace Prize — we must also remember those who have been deprived of their rights," Jolie said in closing. "Holding perpetrators of mass atrocities accountable is the best way to ensure justice today and peace in the future. Sudan is the place to start." What do you think of Jolie's Newsweek piece? Romantic Night Out For Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie - New Kerala Posted: 11 Dec 2009 07:31 AM PST December 11, 2009: BRAD PITT and ANGELINA JOLIE enjoyed a romantic night out in Hollywood to celebrate their five-year anniversary as a couple - and the kids stayed at home.
The superstars planned a military-style operation to make sure their low-key night at the Chateau Marmont stayed top secret - and they did such a good job that news of the 28 November (09) rendezvous has only just leaked. A source at the famous Los Angeles hotel tells Life and Style magazine, 'They checked in around 4pm and were ushered straight to their poolside bungalow. They were holding hands when they arrived, and Angie was really excited. 'They looked like they were on a date. They had no security with them, and they were incredibly relaxed.' According to the insider, the evening was planned meticulously by Pitt, who insisted on dealing only with top-level hotel staff members to make sure the night wasn't ruined by fans or photographers. The source adds, 'They just wanted a quiet night by themselves.' The publication reports the couple left the hotel just before lunch the following day and tipped 'generously'. The insider recalls, 'They looked so happy. They'd obviously had a lovely night together.' --IANS-WENN
