As a Hollywood star Angelina Jolie often braves the red carpet in nothing more than a skimpy ballgown.

But when it comes to her children she is a little more careful about their health.

The actress wrapped up her four oldest children in woolly hats, padded jackets, gloves and scarves for a trip to the theatre with partner Brad Pitt last night.

The family arrived to watch Mary Poppins on Broadway in a large people carrier.

Maddox, eight, led the way as Brad carried daughter Zahara, who turns five this week, and Angelina carried daughter Shiloh, three and held the hand of six-year-old Pax.

Twins Knox and Vivienne, one, stayed at home while their older siblings enjoyed the night out.

The family has been braving the sub zero temperatures in New York as Angelina finishes several re-shoots of her action flick Salt.

She has received visits on set from her family, while Brad has also been spotted taking his sons out for dinner.

An eyewitness said the film star handed out game cards to children playing in a video arcade, according to a report in Us magazine.

But when a crowd began gathering, the group decided to leave. 

The magazine reported than one onlooker yelled out, 'I love Jennifer Aniston!'

They happen to be stylish loving parents...Only a moron would think they are fake, only a moron would think that Ms Jolies ambassador work is fake, Mr Pitt has done wonderful things for the people in New Orleans alongside Canadas own Mike Holmes...they are both talented, business savey and Humanity driven people...they DONOT do things for stunts or publicity...why cant you people leave them alone...They have both matured in the limelight changing from self absorbed super stars into careing, life affirming global community driven responsible parents who have wisely used their hard earned star power to help those less fortunate...The global community of Super stars who take up valuable oxygen could learn something from these two...just think what the world would be like with more Brads and Angelinas and less Paris Hiltons, and all the little glittery high priced egos in hollywood...

They are clearly loving parents and lovely people who do a great deal for those less fortunate. That you lot get your knives out in bitter attack says more about your issues than about them. Beautiful family, beautiful family. I would be keeping my kids very very close in a public swarm like that!

Sorry, but Brad and Angie do NOT use their children for publicity stunts! They are NOT THE BECKHAMS, lol! If anything the Jolie-Pits use their children and themselves as ROLE MODELS! I believe they do make the kids NUMBER ONE PRIORITY and I have yet to see a Hollywood couple that do this on a regular basis - there are those extremely few no doubt!
