Los Angeles - The Los Angeles coroner performed an autopsy on actress Brittany Murphy Monday as her husband confirmed reports that she was ill in the days before her death. 'My world was destroyed yesterday,' Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack, told Access Hollywood on Monday. Monjack said that prior to Murphy's death, it had just been 'a regular day.' '(Her mother) Sharon went into the bathroom because she had been in there a long time. Her mom screamed for me and I ran. Then called 911,' he revealed of events on Sunday. Monjack confirmed reports that the 32-year-old star of films such as Clueless and 8 Mile had been sick in recent days, but it did not appear serious. 'She had laryngitis,' he said, noting she had seen a doctor. 'She had been tired at the end of the year. She had made a couple movies.' Celebrity website TMZ.com quoted Los Angeles police as saying there was no evidence of criminality in the cause of her death from a massive cardiac arrest. But investigators removed large quantities of prescription drugs from the home that she shared with Monjack, the report said. However, no illegal drugs were found. Murphy, who had been acting since age 2, was apparently found unconscious at her home, in her shower, Sunday morning by her mother. The actress was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where she was pronounced dead. Actor Aston Kutcher, with whom she starred in the 2003 film Just Married, sent condolences to her family via the social network site Twitter. 'The world lost a little piece of sunshine,' he wrote. Murphy drew attention with her portrayal of the street-smart Tai in the 1995 teenage classic Clueless. In 1999, she starred with Angelina Jolie and Winona Ryder in Girl Interrupted. People magazine reported that Murphy had appeared emaciated in recent appearances and quoted friends as saying she had been battling 'inner demons' connected to her body image, despite her persistent denials of drug use.

Heart attack kills actress Brittany Murphy, 32 - Times Colonist

LOS ANGELES - U.S. actress Brittany Murphy, who starred in such films as "Clueless" and "Girl, Interrupted" but had suffered waning fortunes in recent years, died in a Los Angeles hospital on Sunday, officials said. She was 32.

Murphy was pronounced dead at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center about 10 a.m. PST (1800 GMT Sunday), two hours after her mother reportedly found her unconscious in the shower of the actress' Hollywood Hills home. A spokesman for the Los Angeles County Coroner said there were no suspicious circumstances, but that an autopsy would take place in the next few days.

Murphy starred in films opposite Michael Douglas, Ashton Kutcher, Eminem and Angelina Jolie, but failed to attain their level of success. In recent years, she worked mostly in low-budget movies, while her emaciated appearance sparked concerns about her health.

"(Today) the world lost a little piece of sunshine," Kutcher, a former boyfriend, wrote on his Twitter page. "(S)ee you on the other side kid."

Her publicist declined comment, saying the family wanted privacy.

Murphy was in the news earlier this month when she reportedly was fired from the Puerto Rico set of the indie thriller "The Caller." Her publicist said the split resulted from creative differences. When Murphy and her husband of two years, British screenwriter Simon Monjack, returned to Los Angeles, he lost consciousness on the plane and was rushed to hospital.

SMALL SCREEN SUCCESS

Murphy was last in theaters with the low-budget thriller "Across the Hall," which opened in one theater each in New York and Los Angeles two weeks ago. She recently finished work on the Sylvester Stallone action film "The Expendables."

Murphy was born in Atlanta on Nov. 10, 1977, and raised in New Jersey. Accompanied by her mother, she moved to Los Angeles in the early 1990s in hopes of stardom.

She made her breakthrough in the 1995 feature comedy "Clueless," playing a frumpy schoolgirl who gets a makeover from Alicia Silverstone's character.

"I always felt connected to her as we shared a very special experience in our lives together," Silverstone said in a statement to People magazine. "I feel love in my heart for her — and hope she is at peace. This is truly sad."

Murphy built on her momentum with a succession of TV roles and appeared in two films in 1999 — "Drop Dead Gorgeous" and "Girl, Interrupted," for which Jolie received an Oscar.

Murphy worked with Douglas in the 2001 thriller "Don't Say a Word," and played Eminem's love interest in the 2002 hit "8 Mile."

The following year, she co-starred with Kutcher in the romantic comedy "Just Married," and played Dakota Fanning's babysitter in "Uptown Girls." But the movies failed to generate much commercial or critical heat. Her last major role was in the 2005 comic-book adaptation "Sin City."

Murphy enjoyed more enduring success on the small screen, providing the voice of the vacuous Texan Luanne Platter in the cartoon series "King of the Hill." She also voiced a penguin in the 2006 box office hit "Happy Feet."

OMG: Angelina Jolie Planning "Revenge Pregnancy" - The Hollywood Gossip

Angelina Jolie is totally planning a "revenge pregnancy." We have no idea what that means, but In Touch Weekly reported it, so we're pretty sure it's legit.

We take this to mean that she's gotten over her recent suicide attempt and is ready to get down to the business of procreating ... and trapping Brad Pitt!

After all, if we are to believe this In Touch story, Brad and Jennifer Aniston just had their most "heartfelt" meeting ever ... if you know what they mean.

We're not even sure they know what they mean, actually, but Angelina feels she must take drastic action to keep him. That entails ... pulling the goalie?

It remains to be seen how far jealous Angie will go to perpetuate this hilarious, made-up soap opera expand her brood. But she's yearning for baby #7.

She'd just better hope Jen doesn't get knocked up first ...

It may not be real, but in the minds of tabloid editors, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston's war of words and potential baby-making with Brad is going strong.
