Ridley Scott and Angelina Jolie are discussing a possible role for Jolie in a film about the Gucci family.

Ridley Scott and Angelina Jolie are in the middle of discussions about a possible role for Jolie as Patrizia Reggiano, a member of the Gucci dynasty who was sentenced to 29 years in jail for plotting to murder her husband Maurizio Gucci.

Scott's film will be about the glory days of the Gucci family in the 70's and 80's. During these years, family rivalries and power struggles took over the Gucci clan and resulted in the murder of Maurizio Gucci in 1995.

Fox 2000 is currently hiring someone to rewrite the drama but has set a release date in 2010. The studio is also trying to lock down an actor for the role of Maurizio. Scott has approached Leonardo DiCaprio about the film but nothing is definite as of yet.

ANGELINA JOLIE and BRAD PITT VISIT ORPHANS IN JORDAN - New Kerala

Posted: 21 Oct 2009 12:02 PM PDT

ANGELINA JOLIE and BRAD PITT were special guests of the Queen of Jordan this month (Oct09) when they paid a visit to orphans in the Middle East.

The actress, a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR), has been travelling across the war torn and poverty-stricken region since September (09) and she was joined by Pitt as she continued her tour with a stop in Jordan.

The couple made a trip to the SOS Children's Village in Amman on 1 October (09) after accepting an invitation from American-born Queen Noor, who serves as the Honorary Chairman of the charity.

It was Jolie's second time in the village after previously promising to pay for the running costs of one family's home during a 2003 visit to Jordan.

And Jolie was delighted to see how well the village was being run.

She says, "The SOS model of providing care for children without parental care is one of the best, as they are still in a family setting within their own country.

"We hope more people learn about their programmes and give them support."

Jolie has also met with Somali refugees in Kenya, while Pitt accompanied her to meet with Iraqi refugees in Syria in recent weeks.

Ridley Scott and Angelina Jolie May Be Making 'Gucci' Next - First Showing

Ridley Scott and Angelina Jolie May Be Making 'Gucci' Next

October 21, 2009
by Ethan Anderton

Every day the trades announce new projects to be tacked on to ever-growing project lists for already busy actors, writers, directors and producers. Case in point, director Ridley Scott has an already intimidating roster that includes 14 projects currently in development, 8 producing credits, at least 2 upcoming directing jobs and his most recent film, a new take on the classic Robin Hood tale, in post-production. Both Variety and EW report that Scott is return to another project called Gucci, a drama "about murder and decadence in the Gucci fashion dynasty" with Angelina Jolie being the most likely candidate for a femme fatale role.

Variety provides a bit more historical background on this fascinating and treacherous tale of murder:

"[The story] recaptures the glamorous days of the Gucci family dynasty in the 1970s and '80s, when the family was selling $500 million in product annually. Squabbles hobbled the clan until Maurizio, the grandson of founder Guccio Gucci, came out on top of a power struggle to run the family business. Just when he was about to reestablish the brand name by debuting a line designed by newcomer — and now film director — Tom Ford, Maurizio was gunned down in front of his Milan apartment in 1995."

Jolie is in talks with Scott to play Patrizia Reggiano, who was sentenced to 29 years in jail for plotting said murder of her ex-husband, Maurizio Gucci. Though the project is a priority for Fox 2000, there are still many puzzle pieces that need to be locked into place. Scott has approached Leonardo DiCaprio, whom he worked with on the political-war thriller Body of Lies, to play Maurizio Gucci, but the actors is not officially attached. However, Scott is looking to start production early next year, well before Jolie's other recently announced acting commitment in The Tourist, most likely making this his big follow-up to Robin Hood.

While the story for this doesn't sound terrible, it doesn't exactly jump out to me as a story that needs to be told cinematically. I'd rather see some faster moves made on the previously announced Alien prequel that Scott is supposed to direct. I mean, when I'm faced with the prospect of a murder in the fashion industry or more acid-bleeding, life-ending Alien action, guess which one I'll take. But maybe that's just me, and maybe Scott wants to diversify his filmography before getting back to his cinematic roots of sci-fi. We'll keep you updated on any developments and let you know if Ridley Scott does decide to direct this as his next project.

Still sporting his scruffy look, Brad Pitt was spotted out grabbing a bite to eat for lunch at the Madeo restaurant in West Hollywood on Monday (October 19).

Upon finishing off his midday meal, the "Fight Club" stud hopped into his car and headed off to his office to tend to work duties.

The sighting comes just after the release of a Star magazine report, claiming that Brad and Angelina Jolie's six children have taken over the household.

"They have dinner around 11 p.m. And it's a real smorgasbord of snacks — cheese and crackers, chips, grapes and chocolate," Star's source said. "They all sleep in Brad and Angie's bed. And the kids wear whatever they want. Sometimes Zahara falls asleep in her Sleeping Beauty dress, which has permanent chocolate milk stains on it."

The insider continues, "Maddox and Pax are double trouble. They have every sort of toy known to man, including paint guns, which they splatter all over the walls of the house. Maddox tends to get special treatment. It was his idea to pierce Vivienne's ears. After he said he wanted to do it himself with a pin, Angie decided to have it done professionally. Brad is starting to get tougher... he does tell them 'no' and holds them accountable for their actions. The trouble is they just run to Mom, and she caves. She doesn't want her kids to have that kind of life... she gives them their freedom because she wants their 'souls to evolve.'"

Angelina Jolie in "Gucci" - Sexy Femme Fatale Role - National Ledger

Posted: 21 Oct 2009 12:23 PM PDT

Gladiator director Sir Ridley Scott is reportedly in talks with Angelina Jolie about a femme fatale role in a movie about the Gucci fashion dynasty. Sir Ridley, 71, is in talks with the 34-year-old actress to play the role of Patrizia Reggiano, who was sentenced to 29 years in prison for plotting the murder of ex-husband Maurizio Gucci.

Fox 2000 is looking at a 2010 start date for the flick and is said to be a priority for Elizabeth Gabler and Carla Hacken with Scott Free and Giannina Facio producing.

The studio is looking for someone to rewrite the drama to recapture the glamorous days of the Gucci family in the seventies and eighties when the family were selling $500 million in product each year.

Maurizio, the grandson of the founder Guccio Gucci, came out on top of a power struggle to run the family, but just as he was to re-establish the brand, he was shot dead in front of his Milan apartment in 1995.

The script for the flick is still being developed, according to Variety, and Sir Ridley is still looking for an actor to play Maurizio. It is claimed he has approached Leonardo DiCaprio but he is not attached yet.
