Angelina Jolie Voigt was born in Los Angeles, California on June 4, 1975 to actor Jon Voigt and actress Marcheline Bertrand. She has one younger sibling, brother James Haven. She has 6 children with actor and current beau Brad Pitt: three biological children, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne, and three adopted children, Maddox, Pax, and Zahara.

Once her parents got divorced, Jolie's mother moved the kids to Palisides, New York where they stayed until Jolie was 11. At that time, they moved back to Los Angeles where Jolie decided she wanted to act. Her mother enrolled her at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute where she stayed for two years learning the craft. She dropped out of classes at the age of 14.

In her teen years, Jolie did some modeling and was featured in several music videos. It was in 1993 when she got her first leading role in a feature film - Cyborg 2. (Her feature film debut was actually in 1982 alongside her father in Lookin' to Get Out. She would take an 11-year hiatus before returning to the big screen.) In the next few years, she also starred in Without Evidence, Hackers co-starring Jonny Lee Miller, Love Is All There Is, Mojave Moon with Anne Archer, Foxfire, Playing God with David Duchovny, and the made-for-television movie, True Women.

It was on the set of Hackers that Jolie met and fell in love with Jonny Lee Miller. She married him on March 28, 1996. Their union lasted three years and their divorce was final on February 3, 1999. Jolie remains on good terms with Miller.

In 1997, Jolie was cast as Cornelia Wallace in the film George Wallace. She gained great reviews, won a Golden Globe, and caught the eye of casting agents around Hollywood. The following year, she played supermodel Gia Carangi in the HBO original film, Gia. Jolie won her second Golden Globe and her first Screen Actor's Guild Award for the role and was nominated for an Emmy.

Over the next few years she starred in Hell's Kitchen with Rosanna Arquette, Playing by Heart with Sean Connery and Gillian Anderson, Pushing Tin with Billy Bob Thornton and John Cusack, and The Bone Collector with Denzel Washington.

Jolie married another co-star on May 5, 2000. Billy Bob Thorton, one of the leading men in Pushing Tin, became her second husband after the pair met on the set. The pair was very open about their relationship and they gained lots of publicity after wearing vials of each other's blood around their necks. Their marriage ended on May 27, 2003.

Jolie won an Academy Award for her next role, sociopath Lisa Rowe, in the 1999 film Girl, Interrupted with Winona Ryder. She also won her third Golden Globe and a second Screen Actor's Guild Award. She followed up that film with Gone in 60 Seconds, an action film co-starring Nicholas Cage. That movie was her highest grossing movie to date, earning more than $230 million internationally.

Between 2001 and 2005, Jolie made a string of films including the very successful Lara Croft movies. The first film, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, earned more than $275 million worldwide. The second didn't bring in quite as much but still was considered a success with revenue of over $150 million. These two movies, along with Gone in 60 Seconds, solidified her as a female action movie star. She also starred in the 2001 movie Original Sin with Antonio Banderas, Life or Something Like It with Edward Burns, Beyond Borders, Taking Lives with Ethan Hawke, Shark Tale (voice work), Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow with Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow, and Alexander with Colin Farrell.

.

In 2005, Mr. and Mrs. Smith was released. Jolie was cast opposite Brad Pitt in the film about a married couple of assassins. The film earned a whooping $478 million worldwide and was one of the top-grossing movies of 2005. But even bigger than the revenue of the movie was the buzz surrounding her and Pitt's relationship while filming. Pitt was married to actress Jennifer Aniston at the time and their rumored infidelity fueled many tabloid magazines and gossip websites for months.

Soon after Aniston filed for divorce in 2005, Pitt and Jolie began to be photographed together. The pair is still together today and have six children: three biological children, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne, and three adopted children, Maddox, Pax, and Zahara.

After Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Jolie starred in The Good Shepard with Matt Damon, A Mighty Heart as Mariane Pearl, Wanted with James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman, Kung Fu Panda (voice work), and Changeling co-starring John Malkovich and directed by Clint Eastwood. Kung Fu Panda grossed more than $632 million worldwide making it her highest-grossing film to date. Jolie was nominated for another Academy Award for her role in Changeling. Jolie recently finished filming the 2010 thriller Salt in New York City.

.

In addition to acting, Jolie is very involved in humanitarian work. On August 27, 2001, Jolie was named a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador. She has been on field missions to more than 20 countries around the world including Thailand, Ecuador, Kosovo, Kenya, Beirut, Jordan, and Sudan. She regularly visits Washington DC to attend World Refugee Day and to meet with members of Congress.

Jolie announced the funding of the Jolie/Pitt Foundation in 2006, which gave $1 million worth of funding to Global Action for Children and Doctors Without Borders. She's won several awards for her efforts including Citizen of the World Award by the United Nations Correspondents Association and the Freedom Award by the International Rescue Committee.

2:40 PM Anonymous Says:

Is Megan Fox the New Angelina?

No, Megan Fox is NOT the new Angelina.

Megan Fox is younger, prettier, and has style.
--------------------
Style ?

LOL ! This is the woman who said that she likes smelling her own farts. This is also the woman who told that she doesn't always clean herself on a daily basis, letting her clothes dropping on the floor everywhere in the house. This is also the woman who said in a mag that her hyigien is so bad that she often forget flushing the toilet after dumping her poop, either in friends houses or at home...Yeah she has STYLE, trashy, nasty, disgusting one !

Oh, and by the way this is also the older 23 year old looking starlet with a nasty acneic skin. At her age, Angie looked fresher, younger, so do all the other young starlets, some of them older than Megan. Which means that she will get older even faster, looking already 30 today at 23 when she shouldn't even experience aging process which begins around 25/26, when she doesn't even have preganacies which aging your body.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are adding a few new members to the family!

Look back at Brad and Angie's most romantic moments.

After arriving at their chateau in the South of France, they took sons Maddox, 8, and Pax, 5, to a local pet and garden shop to buy gerbils and goldfish on Thursday.

See cute photos of Maddox -- and his wild hair -- through the years.

While at the Brignoles, France, store -- called Jardinerie du Centre Var -- Jolie, wearing a black maxi-dress, reached into the cage to pet the "gerbilles" while Pitt perused the aisles.

The couple stocked up on a cage and gear for their new pets and also bought Maddox a cactus.

See adorable photos of the Jolie-Pitt twins.

One day earlier, the parents took daughters Shiloh, 3, and Zahara, 4, to lunch at the Auberge de Chatueauvert in Correns, France. Their meal consisted of a platter of cold cuts and a mushroom omelette, and the parents drank Rose wine. Both of the girls had stick-on tattoos.
