Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have always been open about adding to their ever increasing brood.

So it was hardly surprising to see the actress in Haiti this week visiting a group of children left orphaned by last month's earthquake.

But while speculation was rife that she was there scouting for a possible addition to her clan, Angelina insisted she was only visiting Haiti in her role as UN Goodwill Ambassador.

Goodwill: Angelina Jolie speaks to CNN from Haiti where she insisted she was only visiting in her role as UN Ambassador and not with the intention to adopt a child

The 34-year-old has just spent three days in the disaster-stricken country where, during her trip, she visited an SOS Villages camp for orphans.

She was greeted warmly by the starstruck youngsters, who shouted 'Angie! Angie!' as she arrived.

She arrived back in Los Angeles this morning, but before she left Haiti, she spoke to US news channel CNN via satellite and said she and her actor partner Brad, 46, had no plans to bring a child home.

She said: 'I'm always open to children around the world. We're that kind of a family; Brad and I talk about that.

'But that's not what we're focusing on at this time, by any means. We're not here for that. We're here to see how we can help protect the children in this country and scale up the needs here.'

During her visit to Haiti, Angelina also toured a makeshift camp in the southern city of Jacmel and a Save the Children relief supply center.

She was also shown around the pediatric wing of Dario Contreras Hospital, the leading trauma hospital in the Dominican capital Santo Domingo.

She said: 'It is incredibly horrible to see a catastrophe of this size hit a people who have been suffering from extreme poverty, violence and unrest for so many decades.'

Dario Manon, spokesman for the hospital, said: 'She spoke with several children and a Haitian woman who recognized her and requested help.'

Angelina and Brad, who have donated $1million to Haiti, have three adopted children - Maddox, eight, from Cambodia; Pax, six, from Vietnam; and five-year-old Zahara from Ethiopia.

They are also parents to three of their own children, Shiloh, three, and one-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

Here we go again - the popular sport of Angelina bashing. She has become a bit of a cartoon villan these days! What she says in the link is perfectly sensible and she says clearly that the emergency situation is not the time for people to think about adoption. She has matured from a troubled teen/young woman into a fulfilled and genuinely maternal woman who really carers about children. She would be an even bigger star in Hollwood if she didn't put her career on hold on numerous occasions for her childen's sake. She doesn't adopt or give birth for publicity. She reportedly even split with Billy Bob Thornton as he was jealous of relationship with her first adopted child from Vietnam. Angelina adopted this child many years before an adopted child from a deprived country became a fashion accessory. She has done lots of good work for charities around the world including donating millions of dollars. Leave her alone.

I truly admire Angelina and Brad. Unlike most celebrities they do not hesitate to donate from their own pockets, rather than just appeal to everyone else to donate. I think they have good hearts and want to make the world a better place.

Of course they can cope with 7. They have a fleet of nannies. To them, 5, 6, 17, there's not that much difference because somebody else does the washing, shopping, feeding. All of the grunt work basically. I can hardly cope with just two! and it feels like there are children everywhere and toys everywhere and shoes everywhere. BUT if I lived in mansion with an army of staff, I probably wouldn't notice an extra few.

Another to add to her 'designer' collection that she will foist onto the everchanging team of nannies these children have to endure.

What the hell is going on with you people?
who cares if Angelina loves publicity and how is that bad? it's a win win situation - perfect!
She is a celebrity so accept that she will always be in the papers,
She is also: beautiful, sexy, intelligent and generous,

Why can't you comment on the fact that She donated one million, visited the country and is prepared to do more for the children welfare instead of concentrating on the negative points (in your opinion obviously)That just shows your character which is not that great!

If you are not doing anything better than her SHUT UP!

I am sick of you SADOS, accept your life and maybe you wont resent and envy others'.
OH AND I ALSO NOTICED THAT MOST OF THE BITTER, ENVIOUS CRUEL AND MEAN COMMENTS HERE ARE FROM YOU WOMEN, you should celebrate the GIRL POWER instead of bring it down.

and get over the fact that she stole brad from jen, already ITS'S OLD NEWS.

Adopt a 1000 if you want to make a difference. Love how the Hollywood crowd flock to areas that have experienced a crisis and believe that they can make a difference. All Haiti needs now after the departure of her is none other than Madonna.
