| Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie split in row over Jennifer Aniston ... - canada.com Posted: 25 Jan 2010 11:38 AM PST VANCOUVER — Can this non-marriage be saved? Yes, the buzz bewitching the world of celebrity tells a sad tale about Hollywood's favourite couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The famous adoptive parents of a brood of African orphans are splittsville, according to reports besieging the Internet. What's behind the acrimony? Many are looking to Pitt's former best friend, Jennifer Aniston, the mention of whom can reportedly still get Angelina all worked up in a jealous tizzy. Sources have told the Australian journal of record, the heraldsun.com, that Jolie's in a semi-permanent snit because Pitt's kin has always preferred cutie Aniston to the ravishing action star. One publication reported Angelina, beset by a jelous fury, belted the hapless Pitt. Other reports tell of the pair downing several bottles of vino in a Manhattan eatery before having a domestic set-to in public. Pitt has repeatedly denied he's holding any kind of torch for Jen, but Angelina refuses to be mollified. Journalists have told how Pitt has taken to drink to drown his Jolie-drenched blues. Some even write about how Pitt's boyish good looks have been replaced by a visage you'd expect to see a lone guru sport atop a Tibetan mountain. Trim the beard, grasshopper. The friction is apparently taking a similar toll on Angie, who some reports describe as increasingly emaciated. Go get some of your (ex?)-boyfriend's gumbo, girl. And just as the world is taking its schadenfreude jollies by the split, who pours water on the celeb split than our friends back at TMZ. The break-up is "b.s." writes the august journal. "It's now safe to step back from the ledge." So what's next for the 34-year-old actress and her 46-year-old swain? The News of the World says the couple will soon issue "an announcement of their separation." Will Brangelina be replaced by a resurgence of Pittston? And in other news... It's a good thing nothing in particular is happening in world affairs that can move the spotlight away from this juicy affair. | Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt split rumors not true: sources tell mag - New York Daily News Posted: 25 Jan 2010 02:13 AM PST Originally Published:Sunday, January 24th 2010, 1:47 PM A report that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are splitting is "totally false" several sources are saying, but Hollywood's glam power couple remained mum Sunday. "Everything is fine," one source told People.com. London's News of the World and other sources say otherwise. The pair reportedly met with California divorce lawyers - even though they're not married - to hash out an amicable division of their vast fortune and custody of their six kids. "The paperwork is already organized for a breakup - and for it to be as unmessy for them as possible," the London paper reported Sunday. Canadian journalist Ian Halperin reported Sunday that a close friend of Pitt's says the hunky actor has been preparing to bail from his five-year relationship with the pillow-lipped Jolie for at least six months. "Brad is miserable and wants a new start," said the friend, a Hollywood industry veteran. "He's looked miserable and exhausted the past couple of years because he can't handle Angie's explosive personality and self destructive ways. "I love Brad and am in his corner all the way. I feel so bad for him because Angie put him through the ringer. I can confirm that his relationship with Angie is over," the pal told Halperin, author of the book, "Brangelina: The Untold Story of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie," in which he predicted the bustup. The children will reportedly live full-time with Jolie, the News of the World report said. "The contract was like a tailor-made version of a prenuptial agreement," a source told the tab. "It seemed clear they want the world to know they'll both play a part in the upbringing of the children." Buzz about a Brangelina breakup has been circulating for months. Us Weekly reported Friday that Jolie despises New Orleans and calls the home she and Pitt bought there in 2007 "his house." Jolie instead prefers Chateau Miraval, their 1,000-acre, $70 million estate in Provence, France, the magazine said. "Brad loves spending time in New Orleans, but Angie doesn't," the source dished. "They fight because of it... She keeps yelling at him that she hates New Orleans and never wants to go back." The National Enquirer reported that Pitt and Jolie had a heated argument Jan. 6 inside the Alto restaurant in midtown Manhattan. But just three days earlier, a source also told the Daily News, the duo shared a "pleasant" meal of foie gras, cold salad and roasted chicken at Le Perigord on 52nd St. "They looked happy - very, very happy. I don't think they have a problem together," Pierre, a server manager said. Either way, the Jolie-Pitts haven't been seen in public together much as of late. They skipped the Golden Globes last week and the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Saturday night, where there was an awkward silence among Pitt's "Inglourious Basterds" co-stars when asked about his absence by Foxnews.com. "You've got Jacky Ido (a fellow cast member) all the way from France," actor Eli Roth mumbled to Fox's Pop Tarts entertainment column. The scraggly-bearded Pitt also made a solo appearance Friday night in Los Angeles at George Clooney's "Hope for Haiti" telethon, while Jolie is said to be in the Big Apple this week for a Vanity Fair magazine shoot. Reps for Pitt and Jolie did not returned calls for comment Sunday. With Colby Hamilton and George Rush Five Filters featured article: Chilcot Inquiry. | 'Not true' Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are splitting - Adelaide Now Posted: 24 Jan 2010 06:06 PM PST SOURCES close to actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie say there is no truth to rumours that the celebrity superstar couple has split. The story claiming Pitt and Jolie had broken up first appeared in the British newspaper News of the World on Sunday, and was picked up by international websites. But US celebrity website People.com says "multiple sources" close to the family say the rumours are false. "Everything is fine" with the couple, a source told People.com. Another source said the split reports were "totally false". Jolie is reportedly in New York for a Vanity Fair magazine photo shoot, while Pitt has stayed in Los Angeles to take part in the Hope for Haiti Now telethon. The rumours took off after Pitt failed to attend Saturday's Screen Actors Guild Awards, where his film Inglourious Basterds picked up the award for best ensemble cast. According to the News of the World, the couple - who are not married - filed separation papers with a Los Angeles lawyer. The couple has six children, three of whom are adopted. The couple, known as Brangelina, have been together since shooting the thriller Mr and Mrs Smith five years ago. They are said to have agreed that the children will live with Jolie. The couple are not married - having said they would marry only when American homosexuals were also able to wed. Even so, documents were filed with a Los Angeles lawyer earlier this month to help with a smooth separation, unnamed sources told the News of the World newspaper. The newspaper said Pitt and Jolie will keep all the money they have earned, which Forbes estimates at more than US$100 million each. Pitt, 46, will have full access to their three biological children, Shiloh and the twins Knox and Vivienne, as well as three adopted children, Maddox, from Cambodia, Zahara, from Ethiopia, and Pax, from Vietnam. All have the surname Jolie-Pitt. On Saturday, associates of both actors declined to comment, one saying it was a "private matter". The News of the World says the lawyers, based in Beverly Hills, have cleared the path for an announcement that has been the subject of rumors for many months. Last week, National Enquirer magazine carried a story that Pitt and Jolie had a final explosive row at a New York restaurant called the Alto on January 6. It claimed that Pitt staged the six-hour dinner as an intervention to persuade Jolie, 34, to get psychiatric help. It alleged that she had suffered depression since the death of her mother from ovarian cancer three years ago, since when Jolie's weight has dropped dramatically. It also claimed she had made a suicide attempt. The magazine said that after that stormy night, the couple agreed their relationship was over and "their focus is now on making a smooth transition for their children". Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, 40, his former wife, were seen backstage together at the Haiti telethon in Los Angeles on Friday while Jolie was in New York promoting her next film, Salt. Citing sources, London's News of the World reported that Pitt and Jolie have met with California divorce lawyers and have agreed to divide their vast fortune. In legal papers signed this month, the world's most famous couple has also agreed to share custody of their six kids, sources say. "The document was signed in early January," a source told the British tabloid. The contract, signed by Pitt and Jolie, is similar to a pre-nuptial agreement, reports nydailynews. "It seemed clear they want the world to know they'll both play a part in the upbringing of the children," the source said. "But Angelina will actually be the one who lives with them full-time." Pitt, 46, will have full access to their three biological children - Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne - as well as the three adopted children - Maddox, from Cambodia Zahara, from Ethiopia and Pax, from Vietnam. The couple, who never married, have been together since shooting the action film 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' five years ago, when Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston. Pitt and Jolie, 34, have not been photographed together in recent days, fueling reports that their story-book relationship was on the rocks. On January 6th, the National Enquirer reported that Pitt and Jolie had a heated argument inside the Alto restaurant in Midtown. The magazine said Pitt demanded Jolie get psychiatric help for the depression she has suffered from since the death of her mother three years ago. Pitt was photographed Friday night backstage at the 'Hope for Haiti' telethon in Los Angeles, but without Jolie. Representatives from both the Pitt and Jolie camps declined to comment.
