London, Aug 6 (ANI): What do Anne Hathaway, Daniel Craig and U.S. president Barack Obama have in common? Well, they all have made it to Vanity Fair's 2009 International Best-dressed List. Brad Pitt, First Ladies Michelle Obama and singer/model Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, the wife of French president Nicolas Sarkozy, have also featured on the list.
However, Pitt's partner Angelina Jolie, who frequently tops style polls, was not on the magazine's annual honours list, reports the Daily Express. Alicia Keys and Penelope Cruz also made it to the list. (ANI) This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
| Brad Pitt Says Smoking Pot Turned Him Into A "Doughnut" - All Headline News Posted: 06 Aug 2009 12:13 PM PDT
August 6, 2009 2:50 p.m. EST Los Angeles, CA (BANG) - Brad Pitt says drugs turned him into a "doughnut." The "Inglourious Basterds" actor realized he had to move out of Hollywood when his marijuana use began to get heavier and he started isolating himself away from his friends. He admitted to Parade magazine: "I liked to smoke a bit of grass at the time, and I became very sheltered. Then I got bored. I was turning into a damn doughnut, really. So I moved as far away from that as I could. I was done." "In Missouri, where I come from, we don't talk about what we do, we just do it. If we talk about it, it's seen as bragging." Brad, 45, has been dating his "soul mate" Angelina Jolie - with whom he raises six children - since 2005 but insists they have no plans to marry, despite being bombarded with hate mail over their lifestyle. He explained: "I have love in my life, a soul mate - absolutely. When someone asked me why Angelina and I don't get married, I replied, 'Maybe we'll get married when it's legal for everyone else.' I stand by that, although I took a lot of flak for saying it - hate mail from religious groups. I believe everyone should have the same rights. They say gay marriage ruins families and hurts kids. Well, I've had the privilege of seeing my gay friends being parents and watching their kids grow up in a loving environment." "I resent people telling others how to live! Just the other night, I heard this TV reverend say that Angelina and I were setting a bad example because we were living out of wedlock, and people should not be duped by us! It made me laugh. What damn right does anyone have to tell someone else how to live if they're not hurting anyone? How many times do you think real love comes to someone in a lifetime? If you're lucky, maybe two or three." Despite their hectic family life, Brad and Angelina manage to enjoy private time together by sneaking off to a secret stone grotto behind a waterfall in his pool. He joked: "It's a great place for sex."

| Nude statue of Angelina Jolie to be unveiled in Norman - Daily Oklahoman Posted: 06 Aug 2009 09:43 AM PDT
A sculpture by a New York artist depicting a nude Angelina Jolie breast-feeding her twin infants in the "football hold" will be unveiled next month at a Norman art studio. The event will occur in Oklahoma partly because Brad Pitt was born in Shawnee. Pitt, of course, is half of "Brangelina," the popular designation for the two stars' relationship, and also, by the way, the name of a theme house being built in Edmond. The life-size sculpture, titled "Landmark for Breastfeeding," was inspired by last year's cover of W magazine featuring Jolie suckling her baby. It was created by Daniel Edwards to promote acceptance of public breast-feeding. "I'm doing a series on celebrity mothers," he said. "It kind of fit with past works I've done." A former Edwards work, "Monument to Pro-Life," depicts Britney Spears giving birth on a bearskin rug. Edwards also has created "Octomom: String of Babies," busts of Ted Williams and Fidel Castro and a sculpture called "Dead Prince Harry," depicting the prince in uniform, holding a locket, with a vulture by his feet and his head on a Bible. A spokesman for Jolie said he was aware of the nude sculpture but would have no comment. Cory Allen, a Norman filmmaker working on a documentary called "Domestic Bliss" about the Brangelina project, is "project coordinator" for the Jolie breast-feeding piece. He said the sculpture by Edwards, "considered the most famous living artist right now," will tour London and one of the five bronze castings of the piece will be auctioned in New York. One will be in the garden of the Brangelina home, a 4,000-square-foot, $480,000 home in Edmond that Edmond street artist Xvala says will be "the embodiment of the Brangelina." Xvala is the art name used by Jeff Hamilton, who's collaborating with Edwards on artwork in the Brangelina home. "There's never been anything like this," he said of the home. Everything in the house will reflect the spirituality and beliefs of Jolie and Pitt, he said. "They're such the ideal that the house has to live up to that ideal," he said. The roof decking (now covered with shingles) was stenciled with numerous smiling hearts. Framing (much of it now covered with drywall) was covered with almost 10,000 letters that make up numerous quotes by the famous couple. Some of those will remain visible in the attic, Xvala said. Rooms will have various Brangelina themes. Also, Edwards said, on the ceiling of the master bedroom will be another sculpture of Brad and Angelina "in bed in an embrace." Allen said the hope is that, using family unity as a theme, the house will "establish a good vibration" as the artists' answer to the struggling housing market. The Brangelina house is an experiment combining artwork and housing, one that might require an owner who is, as Xvala puts it, "a fan of domestic bliss." Even if the famous couple eventually go the way of so many celebrities and part ways, Xvala said, "the house will survive their breakup."Share with a friend

| Angelina Jolie breast-feeding sculpture - San Francisco Gate Posted: 06 Aug 2009 07:41 AM PDT Angelina Jolie breast-feeding sculpture![]() Daniel Edwards' latest work, 'Landmark For Breastfeeding,' depicts Angelina Jolie nursing two babies. Remember the sculpture of a nude Britney Spears giving birth on a bearskin rug? Or the Pepto-Bismol pink piece of Nadya Suleman, aka, Octomom? Daniel Edwards is the artist behind these bizarre pop culture sculptures--and he just released photographs of his latest work: a bronze nude Angelina Jolie breast-feeding her twins, Vivienne and Knox. The statue demonstrates the "football-hold," a technique for nursing two babies simultaneously. The inspiration for the statue came from Jolie's 2008 W Magazine cover photo that her partner, Brad Pitt, took of her breastfeeding a child. The New York artist was touched by the cover and wanted to create a sculpture that encouraged mothers to nurse. News of the art piece was released on Tuesday, in the midst of World Breastfeeding Week. Titled "Landmark For Breastfeeding," the statue will be unveiled on September 11 at MainSite, a contemporary art gallery, in Norman Okla., near Brad Pitt's birthplace. A cast of the sculpture is expected to be auctioned by Sotheby's on October 6 for the New York Academy of Art's annual Take Home A Nude art auction, after being displayed at Holster Projects in London's West End. The statue has already sparked controversy. "I totally support shifting societal standards to make breastfeeding anywhere, any time totally cool," writes Celebitchy blogger. "I'm even okay with public art celebrating breast feeding. But to use Angelina's image for it? Just seems weird. Then again, they are raising awareness more with this than with a sculpture of just some random woman breastfeeding. So... well done?" "I, too, was inspired by Jolie's nursing pic," writes Cate Nelson of Eco Child's Play. "As a lactivist, I think it's fantastic when women like this show that natural human processes are even done by hot starlet MILFs." What do you think of the statue? Do you find it inspiring or creepy? | August 06 2009 at 08:07 AM This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |

Additionally, Jolie and Spears have never been particularly modest about their bodies. The series is on celebrity mothers, so it fits. I wasn't crazy about the Britney Spears sculpture, but to each their own.
Jolie has said and done some strange things, some of which I disagree with. I used to admire her a great deal but after reading some of the things she's said since having children, I am not so fond of her as I once was. However, she has done a lot of humanitarian work and that is admirable.
